Mayor Bill Peduto is pushing legislation to require the city to embrace ‘dark sky lighting’ technology. Rules would begin with city-owned facilities, parks, and street lighting and move to include Pittsburgh Zoo, National Aviary, and Phipps Conservatory.

OZARK, MO - The city’s board of aldermen has passed a “dark sky” ordinance, which is designed to minimize lighting impacts “while preserving the viability of the night sky,” according to a news release from the city. The ordinance passed on the 6th of July.
