Friends of the Everglades and the Center for Biological Diversity have filed a lawsuit to block further construction or operation of the so-called ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ citing the high-brightness lighting and diesel power sources as a source of potential harm to the Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park as well as violations of the National Environmental Policy Act.
