Oncologists and surgeons at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health have determined that pancreatic cancer tissue has ‘substantially’ attenuated circadian clock response. The arhythmic clock accelerates cancer growth. This is in contrast to other studies that show that disrupted circadian rhythms are a contributing factor in the development of cancer.

Charting Light at Night Near The Mangroves of the South and East China Seas

A study of data from 1992-2020 by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences shows that light pollution near mangrove forests has increased drastically (as much as 52% brighter) as coastal regions urbanize. Also notable was that Taiwanese nature reserves created around mangrove forests slowed the rate of increase compared to unprotected forests, even without specific lighting bylaws nearby.
