The Fairfax County Planning Commission unanimously recommended that county supervisors approve more restrictive outdoor-lighting rules within a half-mile radius of Turner Farm Park Observatory in Great Falls. Current rules require cutoffs to prevent uplight, new rules will require motion controls, a cap 1,500 lumens, a max warmth of 3000K, but will allow uplight at 300 lumens.
