Viennese zoologists have found that light at night has reduces near surface activity of anecic earthworms by 76%. The study also determined that light pollution conditions increased the height of invasive, allergenic ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) by 104%, suggesting worms eat the seeds and roots of the plant.
